Diane Andrews Rose received her undergraduate degree from Tift College in Religion and Behavioral Science. She continued her studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Patches the clown was born in October of 1995 with the beginning of the New Creation Clown Troupe. Diane and Patches have attended Pinky Productions Gospel Clown School three times and continued their performance & clowning studies in 1999, 2007 and 2008 at Advance Studies with Leon McBride. She has attended and taught at the Georgia Baptist Creative Arts Festival. She has taught in conferences throughout Georgia as well as in Tennessee and in Missouri. She currently writes a column, "Patches' Paths," for The Cross and the Clown magazine. She has performed in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, and Virginia. She teaches beginning clown ministries to Youth and Adults in various church settings. She has been active as a facilitator for MasterLife, Disciples' Prayer Life, The Mind of Christ, and Experiencing God. Patches along with others of the New Creation Clown Troupe currently ministers through worship services, fellowships, special church and civic programs, hospitals (for both children and adults), nursing homes, Cub Scouts, festivals, local promotions, corporate events, training sessions, and gospel-sharing birthday parties. Diane is a charter member of the international organization Fellowship of Christian Clowns. Diane is a member of Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia where she teaches a ladies Sunday School class and facilitates Bible studies. She is married to Homer Rose and one of their five children is still at home.
